caitlin elizabeth photography | kate - william and mary senior | williamsburg portrait photographer

kate and kelsey were roommates on our tour de italia that fateful summer...
I WAS SURROUNDED BY SUCH ATTRACTIVE PEOPLE :]
and there were only 4 guys on the trip... dear male population at the w&m: YOU SERIOUSLY MISSED OUT because not only is kate another gorgeous william and mary grad, but she's also genuine and sweet.

she claimed to not know what she was doing,
but her unassuming gestures quickly became snapshots of her darling nature.

enjoy :)

she's definitely laughing AT me...

see?! i told you: darling :)

tj is a real ladies man!

whoa kate - don't go throwing this look around anywhere... it could be dangerous ;)

kate, photographing you and being able to catch up really did my heart good :)

much love - and hark upon the gale!

caitlin elizabeth photography | kelsey - william and mary senior | williamsburg portrait photographer

kelsey is what i like to call a 'divano'

fun fact: that means 'couch' in italian!

;)

i met kelsey when i studied in italy for a month the summer between junior and senior year of college at william and mary.  she and denee (my roommate) clicked quickly, and our friendship came easily as well.

one thing i can say for certain is that william and mary is FULL of amazing people, and kelsey certainly doesn't disappoint!  kelsey, i enjoyed catching up with you and meeting your beau (what a lucky guy he is)

HOW CUTE ARE THEY!?!?!!! this was taken about 30 seconds after ian walked up from the sunken gardens, they fit so well together - and their actions when they're around each other are flawless and easy

umm... yes please.

gah! i heart tribe couples :)

and again with the cap and gown... y'all are killin me! i feel old!

the image on the left: hotness.
the image on the right: kelsey's reaction to my dancing and singing 'get it guuuuuuurl'

best of luck to you kelsey :)
love you

caitlin elizabeth photography | alexis - william and mary senior | williamsburg portrait photographer

alexis is FUN.

that seems like a super over-used adjective, but it's completely true :)

her laughter is contagious and you just can't help but smile when she's around.  i had a BLAST frolicking around w&m's campus with her!

she's actually a grad student - we graduated together last year (she was my PRC go-to-gal and i was her RA) and she's now graduating with her MASTERS!

congratulations beautiful :) now go rock the world's socks off!

bomb. shell.

alexis poses so naturally, and she LOVES being in front of the camera (lucky for me!)

happy graduation :)

occasionally you meet someone you just KNOW you want to be friends with. like: i hope she likes me, because i can already tell that i'm really going to like her - so i hope i'm cool enough for her to want to be friends with me - zara is that kind of person.

she is super involved, well-rounded, bubbly, and just lovely :)
but she is also honestly one of the sweetest, most down to earth, beautiful inside-and-out individuals i have the pleasure of calling a friend.

zara, it was truly an honor to document this pivotal time in your life.  it astounds and humbles me on a daily basis that people i cherish so dearly and hold in such high esteem trust me to document precious milestones in their lives.

i know you felt 'absurd' and 'ridiculous' but you TOTALLY ROCKED IT. and this first photo: proves it.

oh dear sweetness.

gosh. i just love you so much.

I TOLD YOU THIS WAS GOING TO LOOK GOOD: and i know you didn't believe me, but now you can see for yourself ;)

we were cracking up :) i always have fun with this beauty

cue tears and nostalgia. seriously: i almost cried when i was fixing her hood and tassle. ugh. stop growing up please

quintessential w&m

zara, with all my heart, i adore you. thank you for being in my life and letting me into yours.

you are going to do big things girl :)

hark!

caitlin elizabeth photography | williamsburg portrait photographer | sister session

things are starting to get a little crazy around here, but it's a good thing :)  last weekend was william and mary's young guarde celebration so hanging out in the 'burg was on the agenda.

photographing a super sweet sister set was too!  and here's a little preview of the goodness to come:

(williamsburg minis: i haven't forgotten about you - you'll each get your own blogpost!!)

caitlin elizabeth photography | surry, virginia portrait photographer

when i first went to will's house i was AMAZED by how many pictures there were of him on the walls/furniture.
from toddler to high school senior, his childhood was WELL documented.

but after those quintessential senior portraits (you know the ones i'm talking about: bad haircut, even worse blue background with those grey streak looking things, fake tux...) there weren't any more photos - well, except the one of will and his dad with the deer will shot last fall (15 pointer - GET SOME) but that one doesn't count because it's little.

so on our way home from williamsburg (my weekend was full of mini sessions for william and mary's class of 2012)
while driving through surry, va i yelled for him to pull over -
and to go stand in a field so i could snag a few portraits of him.

he's a keeper ;)

don't tell his mama, but i ordered this black and white one in a canvas for her for mother's day ;)

now, i might be slightly biased, but i think he's so good lookin'!

will: caitlin! i'm gonna have ticks all over me!
me: stop complaining - children are easier to photograph than you!

caitlin elizabeth photography | adventuring

monday i traveled deep into the virginian countryside to visit (relatively) new friends.

we ate.

fresh turkey - caught that morning - snaps, corn pudding and sweet tea.

we talked.

photography. men wearing dresses. and the expense of higher education.

we played.

a half clothed youngin with to-die-for red curls winked at me from across the table.
her brother told of monsters in the backyard and slipped out from his chair to explored under the table,
waiting for his nourishment to cool.

i reveled in the experience.

the world would be a happier place if this were everyone's everyday:

thank you for letting me play jennifer :)

these images were taken with jennifer's canon 5dmkii - and i am SO PUMPED to make the jump to full frame oh-so-soon!
